On my daily commute to the few places I have to go when I leave my house, roads are littered with dead animals. On my way to college this morning, I counted four deer, one of which was a baby, two foxes, a squirrel, and a skunk. I can barely stand to drive anymore with such roads ridden with death.
I once heard that animals live in a constant state of religious euphoria. Which I concur with. when Jesus Christ permits demons to enter pigs, because they are so entwined with Gods holy order, they immediately kill themselves out of reaction to such an anti-Godly thing invading their spirit. A similar pattern is seen inside of non-Christian religions. Birds are harbingers of the will of Gods, and Gods often transform themselves into animals to reflect their own interior spirit.
Thus it is perhaps one of the worlds greatest cruelties that these animals, so much more worthy compared to us, are left to die on concrete and apshalt. Not given even the decency of returning to the earth by soil or carrion, but left to bloat and then sink into concrete. Only to be washed away by the uncaring indignity of a powerwasher or some other form of industrial cleaner.
If it were up to me, every single roadkill would be replaced by a person. People are far more deserving of such a fate.
