My summer break is ending, and it will be my last summer break which I'm realizing as I am writing this. I am going to be a senior. A SENIOR! IN HIGH SCHOOL! I will be an upperclassman. I'm nervous as I am excited. For one, I'LL HAVE PROM!! I don't have a girlfriend yet, but I hope I can muster up the confidence and ask someone to prom. I'll also have senior night, so I'm super excited for lacrosse season haha.
But, with senior year comes preparing for your future... and I'm not 100% on what I want to do post-education. All the teachers talk about college, and IDK if I'll go. I want to, but at the same time it doesn't exactly match up with my long term goals in life. My heart is drawn to being a firefighter, but it also wants to play college lacrosse. My coaches tell me I'm already a GREAT goalie, and I know that with more practice and training I could be like NCAA material. But, I also know I need to be prepared for if the whole 'college lacrosse goalie' thing doesn't work out! So, my Plan B is paramedic -> firefighter. I have muscle, and my mom is always telling me I'll make a great paramedic because I have good people skills. AND WHO KNOWS! Maybe the 'college lacrosse goalie' thing DOES work out! If it does, I have my hopes set on Syracuse. But I'm not super picky haha.
ANYWAYS... With my senior year comes my birthday. WHICH MEANS I'LL BE TURNING 18 THIS YEAR!! WHAT!!! I'M GOING TO BE AN ADULT! It's so weird to think about it. Fuck, I'm about to get all cheesy and sentimental, but it feels like yesterday I was a little kid. Lemonade stands, going around the neighborhood with my friend doing ding-dong ditch, and exploring the abandoned house that was on our street. Now I'm thinking about college and jobs. So weird.
BUT I'M SUPER EXCITED ABOUT MY BIRTHDAY I KNOW THAT!! 18 is pretty big. My birthday is in THREE MONTHS!! THREE!!! MONTHS!!! I'm thinking up a draft for my wishlist haha. So far, it consists of camo Tripp pants, a Blink-182 t-shirt, a Blame Everyone cd, a chain wallet, and COD 2 for my xbox and COD: MW2 for my PS3. I'M ALSO GOING TO NEW YORK WITH MY MOM FOR MY BIRTHDAY!! I AM SO SUPER PUMPED FOR THAT!! I've never been to New York before. California boy in New York haha.
I'm gonna finish this off with talking more about my senior year. Getting away from all the future preparation stuff, I am SUPER excited about my senior year. I will be 18, I will have my own car (which isn't a car... it's a 1996 Ford Ranger), and I will hopefully have a girlfriend!! I'm getting more and more out of my shell, and I feel wayy more confident. I think a girl has a crush on me, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty bad at picking up certain social cues, but she let me wear her jacket before my lacrosse practice started (she plays girls lax and their practice starts one hour before the guys), and she also invited me to a game. I hope I haven't already messed it up somehow.
I feel like some people say they want to live like it's the 2000s (IDK if people actually say this), but I feel like I do genuinely live like it's the 2000s. I'm not on my phone a lot, I have 'outdated' gaming platforms, I am obsessed with pre-2010s movies (with exceptions). Even the way I dress can be considered 2000s/2000s-esque. I have instagram but I almost never use it. I'm just horrible about checking my phone. Maybe it'd be easier if I just gave people my email? I'm starting to ramble, whoops! I'll just say that I know high-school relationships don't always last. I may find someone when I'm out there in the adult world!
Anyways that's it, buh-bye!

Cool, first off I wish you well when you started off Senior High School year and I wish you the best all around for this year and for years to come.
I know it's kinda nervous to think about but I wish you well.
I hope if you went off for Lacrosse that's gonna work out for you and who knows since some days you're really good at it then maybe that's a sign and if you trained well enough you might be a great professional someday.
But I hope whatever path you choose it's gonna work out for you.
"I have 'outdated' gaming platforms"
Not really, in fact many had huge preference on Retro Video Games and actually had huge appreciation for it.
In fact many are quite excited with SNK Relaunching the SNK Neo Geo AES and many are pre-ordering one.
So yeah, it's not really a shame especially many are quite frustrated with how the Video Game Console Industry is heading so many are heading back on Old Video Game Consoles especially the Retro ones.
So yeah, I think you're cool on that.
But yeah again, I wish you well.

i'm only a sophomore but thinking about what i'm going to do in the future is also stressful for me. i want to be able to travel but i know im going to need a stable job to make a living. i think you should muster up the courage to ask someone to prom because i also think im gonna step out my zone and confess to my own crush.
