Science fiction books that involve angels.

Are people more drawn to science fiction books about angels, or do they loathe them all?

I began developing the lore for my book last year, and I started writing the actual manuscript at the beginning of this year. The story centers on a colony of angels whose sole objective is to study humans and absorb their behaviors. It serves as a broad social commentary—incorporating elements of satire—while leaning primarily into fiction and psychological horror. My main inspiration was Good Omens. However, given my highly analytical nature, I’ve found myself wondering: "Will people actually read my book, or will they end up hating it?".

I’d like to hear the opinions of real people, because I usually end up looking up statistics since I don’t have anyone to talk to about this.

But, like, I’m not just talking about angels—because I don’t think there’s anything particularly unusual about that. If anyone has seen Good Omens, you might recall that there’s a mutual romance between the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley.

Well, my angels exhibit behaviors that could be interpreted as homosexual... But, to me, homosexuality is not a sin—after all, love is universal. We even see this in nature; for instance, rats can display homosexual behaviors, and so can geese, yet no one claims they are sinning. Is that just because they are animals? Well, we are animals too; the difference is that we possess a more refined capacity for reasoning and consciousness.

And that is why I’m afraid people might not like my book. Society—especially nowadays—has been taught that there are things for boys and things for girls... and that men should be strong, while women should be vulnerable. What’s the point of that? Is it biology? To me, it still makes no sense.

That is why my book is also a social critique. I try to weave these critiques into the scenes—indirectly, yet in a way that you will understand perfectly if you read it.

Well, if you have other opinions, please comment below.
