september 2026 blog (concert, fair + more)

I've had a very hectic past month. I went to Grand Rapids and saw Black Label Society, I went to the fair with my friend Clover, and I went thrifting (not in that order.) It's been very fun but also very tiring. I sorta get into this thing of wanting to isolate and hide away everytime it starts getting colder, so I haven't been as active online. I still have so many projects in the onlinespehere (?) that I wanna do like streaming, commissions, webcomics, etc but I've either had zero motivation or been hitting roadblocks.
What I Did
Early in the month I went thrifting. I picked up some tops and a cute flannel. I would show pictures but admittedly I'm lazy :P
What I did score however was a DVD of Bjork's Greatest Hits and Flight of the Conchords Season 1.

I was very excited to see Bjork at my Goodwill because I usually don't have much luck when it comes to music. Was weirdly caked in mud? Quite a few music-related DVDs were also there and had mud on them. I can only infer that whoever donated them liked music like the Beatles and such. I picked up Flight of the Conchords because it looked interesting and the cover art reminded me of Juno.

I went and saw Black Label Society with Dark Chapel as their opener. It was the first time I went to see a band with my friends which was lots of fun! (though my friend Dylan almost landed me into hot water with my parents because he has no filter) We got Chinese buffet beforehand at a new place that opened nearby. It was a surprisingly rough crowd compared my other metal shows. Before the show even began, there was some chick with black hair who was with some guy who was like... her boyfriend? Her dealer? Probably both. She shoved her way in front of us and they both REEKED of alcohol. They ended up leaving sometime later and moved to another part of the crowd. Me and Dylan could see her getting increasingly more and more out of it. Like she could barely hold herself up. And I'm sorry, but getting that wasted just doesn't sound fun. Between songs she pushed between me and Clover looking for something. And then ANOTHER chick tried to get in front of us! TWICE! The nerve of some people. Other than that, the show was awesome. I've always wanted to see Zakk Wylde live ever since my parents showed me filling in for Dimebag when they went to see Pantera. And he played my favorite Black Sabbath song too!

I also went to the county fair with my friend Clover. Definitely less depressing than the last time I went where I went alone. Clover did almost fight someone because they were a douche and kept pestering her. We rid a few rides, I got to try some bubble tea and she went home with a giant bag of cotton candy. We also had some pretzels which were legit so good I still miss them.
What I Played

Pokemon Omega Ruby (3DS)
2014
Started playing one of the older Pokemon games through.. let's say dubious means. I just got to the Elite Four as of writing this and oh my god, it's so good. My first Pokemon game was Scarlet and trying to go back after playing this actually removed the rose tinted glasses I had for Scarlet. Scarlet pales in comparison to this game. The writing is amazing, I love the characters, and I actually felt like I had to strategize in battles unlike Scarlet. I understand what people mean now when they complain about newer games. I also really love Maxie, the Team Magma leader. I maybe be biased because I picked this game solely because I already shipped Hardenshipping but man I just really like him. I was also weirdly surprised by how... respectful he is towards the player? Both him and Archie are like surprisingly polite to the trainer. Hell, Archie kinda comes off like a dad. And Maxie always seemed to acknowledge the player's skill in a way I wasn't expecting. I guess because fanon always portrays him as this sort of kooky, snooty hothead so I kinda figured that was how he was in game. Eithier way, I loved this game. Absolutely my new favorite.

Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast)
1998
Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 were on sale on Steam a bit ago so I decided to pick them up. It was one I need to go back and complete because I only got like 80% through Sonic's story. It was a lot of fun though I will admit I had trouble figuring out what I had to do next. It could also just be me being bad at video games who knows. I usually played while streaming to my friend Clover and I always ended up ragequitting after dying and having to restart lol. It's definitely a lot of fun but I feel bit more excited to start 2.

My Hero One's Justice (PC)
2018
I really like MHA and I started rewatching the show a while back and picking up where I left off. Another game I saw on sale on Steam and decided to get. I didn't get far but I really like this game. I'm not a big fighting game person but I liked how combo-focused this one is. I got addicted to trying to S rank every mission. The more open stages also really reminded me of Soul Caliber.

What I Watched

The X Files
(1993 - 2018)
I watched like the first 8-ish episodes of X Files. Dylan has been telling me to watch this show for a while and I finally sat down and did so. I am obsessed with Scully and Mulder's dynamic. Also Mulder is probably my favorite he's so me lol.

Kudos: 2
