Sherlock Holmes tried to worm into my hyperfixated brain for years

Would you believe that my first exposure to Sherlock Holmes was from an episode of the Super Mario Bros Super Show? Yep, that was my first exposure at around 4-5 years old and I even remember quoting a line at daycare. Still, that time wasn't successful.

The second time was actually from a trailer for a Tom and Jerry DVD I had for years, since I was around 7 years old, a DVD exclusive crossover of said cartoon characters with the famous detective. Again, that was a fail

This third one was actually a part of an IStation story mode in sixth grade, when I was 11-12. I was read THE FINAL PROBLEM out of all stories, yes, the one where Doyle tried to kill off the detective he hated because he got too popular. That still didn't get me interested.

Finally, when I was fourteen, I decided to give Sherlock Holmes a try when I wrote it in a list of books to read. A few weeks later when I attended a trivia competition at a Barnes and Noble, I found the full novel collection and basically snatched it from the shelf it was on.

It was after starting A Study In Scarlet that I became obsessed. After so many years of nudging me, Holmes got what he wanted, probably to the dismay of his creator who tried to kill him off.
