Should I stop homeschooling?

I've been thinking about this for a few days and I still don't really know what to do. So, I'm going into 10th grade and I've been homeschooling since 8th grade and I'm considering asking my mom if I could go back to in person school cause I just don't feel like I'm doing as good with homeschooling, I don't think I have enough self discipline for it and I think its causing me not to learn as good. I don't think I'll be able to go back to in person school this year cause most schools in my area have already started, but maybe next year? I don't know. I'm gonna stick with it for one more year cause I'm gonna try a new program and me and my younger sister are going to this redeem school thing, which is basically just a place to go to where you can do your school work there but it's not as strict and stuff as in person school. I also just feel like I'm missing out on so much by homeschooling. Like, I have no friends, not that I had many before but I still had two and that's better than none. And I'm gonna miss out on school dances to. Like what do you mean I'm never gonna get to go to prom? Something I've dreamed about since I was a little girl and I'm just gonna miss out on it cause I'm homeschooling? But also, starting at a new school sounds absolutely terrifying to me, mainly since I'm insanely shy and anxious. Like, I hate talking to people and I suck at it, so going to a place where there are tons of people I don't know sounds horrifying and I can't tell if it'll be worth it or not. Which, I guess that's something I can't predict and will have to find out by actually doing it, which is absolutely terrible and I hate it. Okay, I guess that's it for now. I apologize for this being kinda long, I just really needed to get this off my chest. Anyways, I hope everyone has an amazing and wonderful day or night!!

hi! i'm homeschooled too (have been since the pandemic) and i really relate to this post. this year is my last year of homeschool. while i can't tell you if going to school is going to go well for me, i think you should go for it. my online friends (who are mostly really shy, and all but 1 of them has an anxiety disorder) have told me that they met most of their friends at school. the self-discipline part is also difficult for me. i've started off small by forcing myself to clean up my desk and do the dishes every day, and i've gotten way better. regardless of your decision, i hope it goes well for you :)

as horror as normal school sounds after being schooled in your comfortable house, I think it's for the better. You'll get a better academic education from actual trained professionals and be able to even meet new people and make friends.Hell, school is the earliest place in life where you learn how to interact with others.Sure it can be a bit of a pain, mainly cuz students nowadays suck, but I'd recommend to go to it one year and see how you feel, since the experience is different for everyone. If you do and like it, you won.If you don't like it, just swap back.

I think it just sounds so terrifying cause I'm pretty sure I have social anxiety, but I think it'll also help me with that a little bit cause I'll have to interact with people I don't know more. Thank you for sharing your opinion!!
