I've been having a real hard time being social for some years now. Mostly online, I am so good at talking to people irl (i swear), but when it comes to online conversation I used to get so stressed out about it I'd actively run away from interactions.
I've been practicing. Sky is a wonderful game for that. Talking to strangers, doing small talks, I've become very good at it (in that context). It's easier when there's no information and you have to ask questions to get to know the person, rather than have everything given to you on a silver platter thanks to social media profile (which I love filling, love reading, and yet, confused as to how to use that information).
So now I'm good at every going towards people in Sky! My second step was Minecraft servers. Which I succeeded in, last year. I say succeeded because I was able to log in very often and didn't run away from people, but honestly I was also not good at all at going towards people either. As in, I don't think I was able to go towards anyone. At all. So okay, let's all be honest, it was a failure.
My other challenge was to go in a MMORPG. I've always been scared of those, like, doing anything? And there's other players? And they can all see you do the thing? ("Hey that's called social anxiety" I know! Why does it only activate online though???) So I managed to do that and not talk to anyone because I am that good at Doing Things unnoticed 😎
Well, to make friends, it's so much harder than that. Sky is fun, and I do have friends there, but it's only on Sky and we don't take that friendship outside of the game. And otherwise, I'm still not good at talking to people. I'm not sure what to do. Keep practicing, sure, but I wish it was something I could study. At least I'd know what I'm doing right or wrong

your online conversations suck but the real ones are great...
HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?
