My mom passed away January 3rd, 2026, somewhat recent, and I’m still grieving. To the story now, it’s last period, I’m in my boring algebra class doing homework and some kids start making fun of me for being an atheist. Didn’t really bother me though, so I explained that after my mother passed Christianity was ruined for me, (I’m open to talking about deep topics because I want people to know that they’re not alone and everyone already knew what happened to my mom.) The kid sitting next to me (I’m going to refer to him as S) looks straight at me, laughing and says this: “Some people have to go.” I go dead silent, trying to process what the fuck just happened, then I started crying and raised my voice at him, and our sub finally came back and took us out into the hallway, trying to figure out what happened. My old 7th grade Social Studies teacher notices me and asks if I want to go to the counselors office so I immediately go. (The school counselor is really chill and really nice to me.) I explain what happened and skipped the rest of math and I have to go tell the dean of students what happened tomorrow morning.
(I also gave my friends S’s number so they could fuck with him. He deserves it though)

I'm so sorry you had to go through that, you don't deserve to be told that your mother "have to go" that sentence is just insensitive. You can get through this, and these people who had done wrong to you will get their karma someday🫂
