i hate this thing where ppl wanna read as much as possible without really READING as in just reading words flipping through pages without reading inbetween the lines or analyzing anything like hello where is the fun in that
i feel like a lot of ppl just see this as acomplishment if u get what i mean like oh i gotta read 3 books thins month! like no you dont read one and understand it and youll get so much more from it find what you enjoy reading thriller? fantasy? drama?
reading has become such a preformative thing and its annoying me i see so many ppl around me brag about reading a lot of books yet i never see them in a library or they never seem to have something they like they read just because and thats it AHHHH

im kinda guilty of this, sometimes ill just be reading a book too fast to even understand anything... but when that happen i usually just dont continue — and restart from that very same page where i started my fast reading on, so i can understand it better lol.
i dont know why people performatively read books, it is what it is ig. i dunno if i can even finish one novel in a month, three is a lot.
