Starting off my blog: personal intro.

This is me. I'd like to be able to make the picture smaller, but I can't for the life of me figure out how. 

My online name is Rocket, or Zombie, I'm 19, and I'm a skinhead punk.

This is one of my favorite outfits. The picture is utter baloney because it's a screenshot from a video i took to show my boyfriend my outfit. I have many such outfits, although most don't fall into a specific style, since I basically just buy whatever I like. I have a few generic alt outfits, some more emo-adjacent, quite a few punk combos such as this one, although I'm very aware how "modern" it looks. I'm not great at capturing old-school styles. 

I have a few goth items as well, but it's WAY too hot to wear any of them right now, and a pair of military pants that I can attach suspenders to, to get the "real" skinhead look. 

Fortunately, no real-life punks care much about clothing being specific, otherwise I'd be instantly deemed a poser.

As for my interests, I'm mostly into DIY as my main hobby, I'm currently working on a winter battle jacket for concerts, since my summer one is kinda too small and VERY amateur-looking. There's not enough summer really left to make a new one and have the occasion to wear it, so I've turned my attention to the long-sleeved one.

I also enjoy music, obviously, specifically going to thrift stores and used stuff shops to find random, cool-looking CDs and vinyls, taking them home and playing them. It's a good way to discover new bands, although living in provincial Italy you don't often find gems.

I also like going to concerts, generally underground ones since they're what I can afford, and usually a lot more enjoyable than institutional concerts. I go with my boyfriend, most of the time, sometimes with my friends, when we all have a free day at the same time. My favorite part of shows is watching the people in the pit. They always look so different from one another, and they make such funny faces, and it's so clear they're having fun. 

Another aspect of my life is political activism: I'm part of a Trotskyist international, with sections all over the world. I've gone to many protests with my comrades, many meetings, congresses, events... Activism and fighting towards revolution are what's given my existence a purpose in the past year. 

I read political theory, along with my beloved mystery novels, but I honestly find it quite difficult. Economy was never my strong suit, so I have trouble understanding the long tirades our theorists go off on, and I tend to get bored of them quickly. Still, I keep reading, because I want to educate myself as much as I can to make it easier to explain my ideas to people. 

I keep a journal, which I've been keeping for about a year and six months, that I update with every life event I deem worthy, so now it's always fun to look back on how I used to see the world. This last year has been full of change, between changing boyfriends and becoming a communist and discovering punk music and finishing highschool... my diaries are full of emotional crises and questions about who I am.

In terms of tastes, I turn towards zombie media, and horror media in general. I'm a big fan of the Resident Evil games, and the movies World War Z and 28 Days Later. I've watched others, but those two were my favorites so far. I've come up with a whole universe of my own, with a zombie infection started by mould that grows on fruit. I obviously love punk music, with a preference towards Oi! and garage punk. 

This is my absolute favorite band ever, and the first underground show I ever saw. They're a SHARP group based in Milan, of which I've had occasion to meet a few members. They're all super sweet, and their music has always inspired a feeling of class unity in me.

I don't really know what else to say about myself, frankly. My bedroom is entirely pink, although covered in posters. I listen to history video essays to fall asleep. I have a Monster Energy can collection, and about a billion plushies. Despite my punk look, I never leave the house without at least a little glitter in my makeup. That's about all I can think of.
