Ho ho ho, do you know what day it is?
"It's the day where kids and weird people dress up as funny characters and get candy for it!!"
Oh shush, Halloween is much more than just that.
For one day a year, our realm opens.
Creatures from different dimensions, curiously enter.
Things that might've seemed impossible.. start to occur, until 12 AM.
"Yeah sure, i am no longer a kid, do you really think i am going to believe that those kindergarten stories are real?"
then, what if i told you that those stories were in fact real.
Sit down, i am going to tell you a story.. a funny revisitation of an old tale..

The moon has risen, the houses light up.
The streets quickly fill up, every sort of monster, psychopath and character can be seen roaming about.
This is the story of a kid, a very enthusiastic one.
Jumping in front of the window, already dressed up, waiting for his mother's approval to go outside and have fun.
He loved halloween, the mystery, the monsters.. but above it all, the free candy.
The mother, finished filling up the bowl with candy for the upcoming trick or treaters, gave him a light pat on the head and set him off out the door.
The boy waited outside, what kind of halloween would it be without his friends?
So he waited.
Moments turned into solid minutes.
Minutes turned into hours.
Still sat down, started to doubt that his friends were eventually going to pick him up.
As he stood back up, another kid stood before him, a girl wearing a skeleton mask with a vampire costume.
She revealed that her friends also dumped her and after seeing him sitting alone, she wondered if he was up to go trick or treating with her.
A warm smile forms on his face and right after agreeing, grabbed her hand while immediately running toward the nearest house, both giggling.
A whole block of houses right in front of them, extending very far.
The boy, very excited could hardly contain himself.
She stepped in front of him, explaining that if they wanted to get more candy without taking the whole night, they had to split up temporarily.
Like any other kid, the idea seemed perfect.
After all, they would meet again in the same spot.
So down the street he goes.
Getting candy and giving scares to the many house owners.
Some groups of kids seeing him alone, made fun of him and how he didn't have any friends.
He looked away and kept walking without letting the bullies ruin this night.
After he was done, they met again where they left each other, both sitting down on the sidewalk.
He proudly shows her, his bucket almost completely filled with candy and one avocado, funnily explaining how an old man mistook the fruit bowl for the candy one.
Then quickly noticed how her bucket was still empty despite the intense number of houses.
After pointing that out, she admits that she wasn't too good at this.
Feeling bad for her, he offers some of his candy, just to be quickly turned down.
Whimpers lightly and looks at his own bucket.
Seeing how he was feeling guilty, she pointed at a mansion on a nearby hill, it was abandoned for quite a few years.
You're really fun to be with.. what if we also went there, that's also where some of my friends spoke about going!
He stared at the mansion for a moment, then got up excited for the adventure, maybe he will meet some new friends too, he had to go there.
So they both went toward the hill.
Around them, kids returning home, houses turning dark.
Until the whole town went to sleep.
She reassured him that after the fun, they would all return home together.
Grabbing his hand, almost guiding him up the stone staircase, getting closer to the mansion.
Tension growing inside of him, shaking lightly.
Once they were in front of the entrance, he barely could move.
The cold wind flowing through was unbearable, she didn't seem bothered by it, so he blamed it on fear.
Behind them, the whole town could be seen, he has never been this high up before, everything was so little from up there, it's like he could grab a bunch of houses and pack em' up in his pockets.
Colorful lights were also visible, flashing red and blue, did christmas come early?
Her hand was gently placed on his shoulder, snapping him back to reality.
come on, what are you waiting for!
The doors of the mansion opened, a loud cracking sound is emitted from every inch.
Inside there were 8 kids, each of them in their own costume, just chatting and eating candy.
The boy feeling more at ease, ran inside and was greeted by the others, the girl entered after him, closing the door.
Everyone was kind and nice to talk with, the opposite of the other kids he is used to meet.
His costume was complimented and candy were shared.
After jokes and nice chats, his hands started to hurt more, legs itching from the cold.
Wondering why no one else was minding it.
Suddenly, the old clock signaled Midnight with a loud bell sound, the old and broken down furniture shook a little.
The girl appeared from behind him smiling.
Hey, It's time for us to return home.
The boy was relieved, he had fun with them but couldn't bear the cold any more.
From the ground, a colorful sinkhole emerges, wind quickly entering and exiting, forming a tiny tornado.
The girl holds her hand forward, as the other kids fly down.
Their skin now pale, clothes slightly torn apart and their eyes now being just tiny flames like ones of a lit pumpkin.
come on, let's go home, together!
The boy, shocked, takes a few steps back.
unsure of what to think.
The girl steps forward.
it's okay, let me bring you to a place where halloween never ends!
you no longer will have to spend it alone anymore
The boy looks away from her, despite knowing that she isn't wrong, in reality no one wanted to go with him, always picked upon and laughed at.
Still, he couldn't just go, he still had his family.
The girl's smile fades as he sees him run to the door.
despite his best efforts the door doesn't budge, it was fully broken down.
i tried to be kind with you but it seems like it wasn't enough.
The wind gets stronger, pulling him toward the sinkhole.
let's go home.
Powerless to fight off the pull, he ends up flying down.
Never to be seen again.

The end!
"Uhm.. did you just put a tragic twist to Missing Halloween by Mike Inel?"
It's just a revisitation.. and how would you know?
You're not even real.
"What-"
Happy Halloween π!
