My husband and I had a date night last night and came home to see a police car parked on our street and a few officers walking around the neighborhood. We took our son in the house and decided to mind our own business but neither of us could ignore entirely what was going on outside. They paced up and down every street, methodically searching for someone or something, and after about half an hour they were gone. I haven't seen anything in the news or anything like that but still have to wonder why they were here and what was going on. We live in a small, relatively safe town and this was very strange.

In some cases they could be trying to find something, someone or a animal! If this ever happens again, I recommend calling the local police department or a non-emergency line. Some Operators/Emergency Communicators MIGHT be able to tell you if there is an issue going on/reassure you!
But if there is an immediate threat or suspicious, please call 911 and they will make a file!
