I’m curious on if anyone else out there has this and what it’s like for you :D
I have some other problems that combine/mess with it but for me my favorite part about it is:
1.) The absolute TRIP music can be (especially when I’m in a good headspace). I LOVE the feeling of it and seeing all these colors and sometimes when I’m lucky getting to smell the songs! It makes you feel like you’re floating and the music IS you and YOU are the music! (This can be overstimulating for me at times unfortunately).
2.) Being able to taste/smell pictures just from looking at them (this can go bad sometimes given my favorite genre is horror lol). I LOVE being able to fully be immersed by a photograph, video, or movie!! I sometimes feel bad more people don’t get what is essentially a sensory surround sound :( (again, except for when it is evil and bad).
3.) Making it slightly easier to remember things I’ve read (I LOVE to research!!) because I remember them as shapes and sometimes colors which makes it easier to put together and keep organized in my memory! I have horrific memory so being able to associate the few I can hold on to, to different months by color/aura(???) and years the same way can be helpful.
Sometimes it does get nasty and hard to navigate tbh, it’s especially hard to explain and relate sometimes especially before I knew I had it. I also have hallucinatory problems, OCD, and ptsd (working on finding out the rest still so take everything I say with a grain of salt as I don’t truly know myself fully yet <3) so sometimes these experiences can combine to mess with me and in worst cases cause me to spiral which sucks, but I think it’s overall worth the struggle in the end <3 . I’m definitely learning to be very, very grateful to have different experiences like this, I feel like accepting these parts of myself has GREATLY made me understand myself and even the universe a little more each and everyday <3
Anyways I was just curious on if anyone has anything similar going on, I’d love to hear about your experiences and how it has treated you!! <3
Much luv <3 muah

I LOVE seeing people talk about their experiences with synesthesia because everyone experiences it so differently and it's so cool 🥹
I feel like my experience is lighter than it is with others but whenever I see certain colors that I HEAVILY associate with a flavor I can taste it and when I was a kid it actually got in my way at some point because I would feel like, almost car sick whenever I saw orange and cream colors together (I HATED orange creamsicles) and whenever I see purple cars I can taste purple popsicles
I also have personalities associated with numbers which I can also associate with certain kinds of people an it's really interesting because I can assign people numbers based off of the vibes of the numbers and the person's vibe but when I think more into the characteristics of the numbers it almost always makes sense. (ok, i'm not sure if that last part is actually synesthesia but I thought it was cool)
I also have shapes associated with like, speech patterns I guess? idk if that's a good way to describe it but like, when someone is just repeating a certain point and not really saying a lot it's very circular but when someone has rough transitions from topic to topic it's square and in order to have a nice conversation you have to transition smoothly but not so smoothly that you're stuck say the same thing, you need to have curves but those curves can't fold in on themselves. i'm actually not sure if that counts as synesthesia either but it's something I think, idk, it's super obvious to me whenever I'm talking about stuff and it makes my head feel like it's spiraling and dizzy 😵💫 (I talk very circularly).
Ok, I think synesthesia is cool, I want to do more research on it eventually but I never have enough time or the motivation to do it but I love love love seeing other people's experiences with it 🥹
Street Angel
Yes I have this too, I just turn it off and on at will because it can get a little overwelming!
