...I left a Discord server I was a prominent member in recently. It was one of those big, public ones where people kept coming and going and I suppose that, in some way, that was one of the factors that resulted in me leaving. It used to have a dedicated community, a soul, if you will, but, like most things, time eroded it all away. I felt like a fish out of temporal water whenever I went back there.
...well, the new GTA VI leaks are not promising. Of course, I can't say that this is a game I've been anticipating with bated breath, but I do wonder what the greater consequences for the gaming industry will be if the game bombs. It feels like the past thirteen or so years of gaming have been built upon the expectation that the next GTA will be the greatest game of all time. So what will happen if, say, there's a bug where you fall through the floor within the first fifteen minutes? Will Rockstar go bankrupt? Will it be akin to Cyberpunk 2077? Will there be a complete, near-irreversible collapse, much like 1983? Time will tell...
...potentially watching Django Unchained on Saturday. I'm still not a Tarantino guy but it might be fun this time around. I missed Inglorious Basterds a couple weeks ago (I think) so I might be able to make up for it here.
...now listening: "And Their Refinement of the Decline" by Stars of the Lid. Currently the last album by this minimalist duo, the ambient compositions here defy conventional description, serving as soundscapes to imaginary worlds, ones which, evidently, have found inner peace. Maybe they're the worlds you see in near-death experiences; all of them have this stark, yet understanding finality to them, or maybe that's just the background knowledge colouring my perception.
