that time THEY almost burned down the hotel

aight so boom

it was shortly after covid in like 2021 and my cousins and i were left in the hotel while our parents went to walmart for some groceries. we were like late elementary school age at the time. my cousins had older siblings who were responsible (kind of) teenagers and could easily stay and look after us, but our parents dragged them to walmart too...for some reason. dumbass decision on the grownup's part

at like 8am my cousin L woke me up and wouldnt let me go back to sleep because and i quote "you cant be lazy all summer" like bitch please its my summer vacation but anywaysies. my cousins A and S were the oldest ones left (literal sixth graders btw) and A decided to make breakfast for us. all we had were some microwaveable eggo waffles, but those are good eats to elementary schoolers.

i was still tired asf, so i turned on the tv and put on my story animated because what the hell else do you watch at that age. as the cishet white blonde blue-eyed hourglass body main character was bouta pull her man, i heard my cousins making a ruckus and yelling over in the kitchen. i, still cozied up in the pull-out couch, turned my head to see

THERE WAS BLACK ASS SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE MICROWAVE.

to this day idk what the fuck couldve caused that. how long did they put the damn eggo in the microwave for???? you need a minute and thirty at max for them mfs but i digress.

and then the fire alarm went off and all i could think was "awwww shittttt"

we put on our shoes and hauled ass out of that hotel room. i do NOT remember what happened next, i just remember standing in the hallway and anticipating the hotel staff coming around to whoop our asses

according to my dad, they came from walmart to see smoke coming out of the building and our sorry asses outside. for some reason we didnt get kicked out tho so thats a plus!

TO THIS DAY, i still do not understand WHY our parents didnt leave us with the damn teenagers. what could they have brought to the walmart trip, a damn party sized bag of lays??? my dad doesnt even know what he was thinking either smh my head

moral of the story, it was my COUSINS who almost burned down the hotel, NOT ME. I AINT DO SHIT YOUR HONOR!!!!!
