The American Revolutionary War

This story is from ages ago but it still annoys me

I love the musical Hamilton and other media about the American Revolution. I sometimes research the American Revolution. Anyhow, one of my friends said that the American Revolution was The American Civil war, I told him that the two wars were different things but he still insisted that it was a civil war. I pointed out that whilst yes the Americans were technically British colonists France and Spain was involved thus not a civil war.

The definition of a civil war is literally a war between groups within the same country WHICH MEANS THAT THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION WAS NOT A CIVIL WAR.

It's not even the only occasion hes said this and honestly it is deep because i feel passionate on the topic of the American Revolution .
