It bit me, literally bit me, like some feral animal. I jerked my arm away, it wasn’t bad, it bled but maybe I’d be ok. I couldn’t even take a second to think before it charged at me again. I ran, I had always been terrible at P.E. but in that moment, I ran fast, faster than I ever had before. It was still right on my tail; I had no time to even breathe. I opened my purse, I remembered my pepper spray, I yanked it out and spun around spraying it right in the eyes. I tripped as I was spinning, but as luck would have it, my aim was perfect. The zombie’s hands immediately rushed up to its eyes. I scrabbled up to my feet and ran. After a few minutes I hid behind a tree, breathless and in pain. My arm, that bite, I looked down at it, my veins around the bite were nearly popping out from under the skin, it was red and inflamed. My breath got heavier, I was dizzy, and my heart was racing. Before I could even process it, I fell to my knees. My head was spinning, and then it all went black.
