the “bring back culture” Pt1

As Gen Z,i think we can all agree that being nostalgic for a time we weren’t born in is a strong part of our culture, trends , wardrobe ecc…

Even the ability of being on here  recalls to that nostalgic feeling: the time before short videos were a thing ,when the internet was controlled by the community.

Maybe u think that this strong culture of bringing back and not having a real signature style that can distinguish the 2020s is worrying, but in reality this  phase is just dictated by the current sensitive political environment we are in.

Milions of writers could back this theory up but let’s start from the beginning, with Hesiod. 

all the way back in Ancient Greece Hesiod was one of the first occidental authors, where he divides and describes 5 phases of The world human’s have seen:

first we have the Golden Age : the perfect one, where humans didn’t know pain and misery, where  they lived happily with gods without differences besides immortality.

to Reinforce his thesis he goes up and talks about other 3 eras: the silver age, The bronze age and the Hero’s Age:

One by one all the good of their world start to disappear and with those gods too, misery starts to show.

Then it appears the worst Era of all time, the Steel era:

the one we live in,Gods are not even a far memory to us, so to feel the hole we have inside caused by a corrupted society The only gift we have is the greatness of Nostalgia for previous generations.

Hesiod  definitely struck an important  arrow in Old Greece society as if the Roman one,different authors got back into his Theory and tried to expand it even more.

terms as golden age,silver age and bronze age are still so important in our culture, media’s constantly remind us of this eras in one way or another,why?
