So Mesa day starten pitty okeyday witda brisky morning munchen
until just before leaving the house to start the long and annoying public transport commute to my equally annoying day job, my glasses decided to pull a "Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good" on me and the bridge just disintegrated.
Channeling my field-medic experience as a Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory veteran (deployed in 2003) I quickly grabbed some Duct-Tape and Oculus Reparo that shit as best I could.
It of course held fine all day and decided to break again just as I was leaving work that evening, by then my trusty optometrist Dima had already closed shop for the day so I had to waddle my way down the street to this pretty sketchy place where the dude (who was probably a bit too drunk for how late it was) after waiting for 2 hours got my prescription wrong.
So I thanked him for nothing, didn't pay for the wrong glasses that he tired to convince me were just fine and "My eyes just need to adjust" I've been wearing glasses since I was 12, I can tell when the prescription is wrong.
Now with the aid of even more Duct-Tape and a legendary assist from Gorilla Glue (not sponsored) I rushed to a client meeting in my studio looking like Harry Potter on his first day at Hogwarts if "Hogwarts" was the codename to a Washington-Heights Crack house and there was no magic in the world.
But on the bright side: the day after that I went to Dima and found this cool frame, he always has unique stuff I like and his work is impeccable.
The moral of the story is: "From a certain age, having a dependable optometrist is more impotent than a dependable drug dealer 🤓
