We all love the 3ds/2ds and Ds right? But the consoles are so expensive now you can barely afford to get games (especially not popular ones)!
Well donât worry child for the greatest DS Pirate⢠is here!
Step 1: YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR 3DS/DS MODDED!!! Obv I wonât leave high and dry so here are guides! I also recommend having a 32GB SD card at the minimum
3ds:Â https://3ds.hacks.guide/get-started.html
Dsi:Â https://dsi.cfw.guide/get-started.html
Step 2: now if you have your 3ds modded you probably have Hshop which is your personal mall for all 3ds games! Idk what the Dsi gets considering that Ghost-shop was discontinued but it doesnât matterâŚ(hopefully)
Step3: now obv the Hshop doesnât have DS games so how do we get those??? https://vimm.net/ OFC!! This site has roms for all different kind of game consoles! I canât recommend any other website bc theyâre all flooded with ads! Little disclaimer: You do need to spell the name of the game correctly or else you wonât it.
Step4: connect your SD card to your pc and download whatever DS game you want! Certain games only exist in Japanese so youâll need to look for translations online on your own and (if youâre lucky) thereâs a translation!
Step5: now just pop the .nds file into your nds folder thatâs in your rom folder on your Sd card, eject the Sd card (done my right clicking and choosing âejectâ) and pop it back into your 3ds/ds!
Step6: now on your 3ds the ds games wonât show up on your homescreen! Super annoying right? Well just open your universal updater and look for ânds forwarderâ (the blue icon that kinda looks like a sd card) and download it! Once downloaded open homebrew where youâll find it at the very bottom! Open it and click âromsâ, then click ândsâ or whatever one you downloaded and click your file! It should be downloaded onto your homescreen!
For Japanese roms: you got a Japanese rom but donât have an easy way to patch the rom with its English translation (created by fans)? Donât worry! Just use this site! If your patch is a .bsdiff file and the site wonât let you select it try renaming it to a .bdf file! Itâs very picky! https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/
Here are two of my favorite Japanese games that I play in English as proof (even if you canât see the English textâŚIâm too lazy to take more recent pics)
