Recently, a specific phenomena has been appearing that I'm starting to notice, which is the invasion of adult spaces by younger people.
In adult media, like games/shows/apps directed toward an older audience, a massive amount of younger people that openly view this media and interact with it is staggering. For example, the currently releasing House Of The Dragon has a huge amount of younger fans, I rarely if ever see any of the older fans online. It's really disheartening, since most of those fans genuinely have no media literacy and continue to misinterpret the content, while their "oomfs" go around saying "yes bestie!"
I realize I sound like a bitter old woman, but this is simply one of the many examples that come to mind. Any piece of media that is flooded by minors, while being mainly intended for adults, immediately degrades in quality, and the community around it becomes absolutely braindead.
Not to mention the people who openly lie about their age, and genuinely don't recognize how that can be harmful and dangerous to them and any person interacting with them. I'm completely against platforms asking for ID verification, but at some point, it becomes ridiculously obvious that something needs to be done about this.
The first thing that comes to mind is creating a platform for younger people specifically, but then there's the issue of creeps targeting that platform, not to mention, the fact that younger people seem almost attracted to adult platforms, and refuse to stick with their own community, probably out of some misguided belief that they're mentally more mature, which is never the case.
Just ranting at this point.
