The search is finally over!!

My friends and I FINALLY found a place to stay next year!! We went to a house viewing yesterday in Newham and in the pictures on the listing it was by far the best place we had looked at! When we got there there was already a group of students there waiting outside to view the property. 

Once we had looked inside we decided that it was perfect for us and we asked the landlord showing us around if we could place a holding deposit down. He told us to message him after we had left. A couple hours later we got a message asking for all the possible future tenants information, which we all sent in… When I woke up this morning I had found out we had sent our holding deposit :D it’s so exciting to finally have a place. I’ve mentioned on the blog that I’ve been struggling a little to look for a place and people have been wishing me well on my hunt. (Thank you guys!!)

One funny story about the house though, was meeting the current tenants and seeing how they kept their rooms. Most of the people we met were all so kind and happy to answer any question we had, wether they were about the area, the bills or how they had found their course now that it had ended. But one of the people living there was in his room and barely spoke to us… before we looked in, the landlord apologised in advance for the state of it and said we should “yes our imagination as to what it would be like after a deep clean”. That made me think: it can’t be that bad, maybe a little messy, some clothes on the floor probably. But nothing could have prepared for what it was really like, upon opening the door, the smell hit me like a sack of bricks. The curtains were drawn, the sheets had come off the corners of the bed, there was a pile of old vapes on the desk, mud or some kind of filth covered the floor in streaks and pools. My friend also moving in only needed to smell it from the corridor to imagine what it looked like… hopefully it’ll get cleaned properly before we move in at the beginning of September.

I can’t wait to move in with my friends, it’s gonna be so much fun. I’ll keep you updated:)
