"There is no sound..." (08/30/2026)

...it's a pretty slow day today. I like that. I like slow days. Life's so hectic now that it feels almost well-deserved when I get a break. 

...I beat Fallout New Vegas for like the 100th time today. I spend more time playing through modded quests than the actual plot these days. Like I spent most of this playthrough doing the Someguy and Ov3rseer quests and then doing the entire rest of the game in one day. Also, I find it pretty funny that this playthrough ended with me having Very Good karma despite killing 2,000+ people. 

...to conclude the sordid tale of me watching Django Unchained: it did not happen, friends backed out at the last minute. I can't fault them, really. They've all got their own lives and, like I said, shit's been busy these days. Hard to keep up and what not. Additionally I almost made plans to meet up with one of them IRL, but it turns out it'd be like a five hour drive.

...listened to: "How It Feels to Be Something On" by Sunny Day Real Estate. Frank, eternally relevant and (obviously) depressing emo. Jeremy Enigk's piercing vocals strike right through your heart. It's crazy to think Dave Grohl stole both Nate Mendel and, for a time, William Goldsmith for his incredibly mediocre "alternative" band. Although I'm glad Mendel isn't on this record. Grohl can keep him and his shitty AIDS denialism.
