music is all i do, and essentially all im good at, and im not even good. if there's thousands of people like me, posting songs, doing whatever, that are better than me, then whats the point of attempting to post things in the first place? nobody takes what i make seriously. sometimes i dont think ill be the best in anything. usually people are told this, and then they succeed, but i dont know how it works if you come to the conclusion on your own.
there's so many people who do what i do i don't think there's a point in trying

if your only drive for doing something is comparison or "being the best" it doesn't matter how far you go, you'll grow to resent it. do what you do because of the passion and love you have for it- otherwise the goalpost will always be moving. if your only concern is that you're not the "only one" doing something or that other people get more attention for it, you should reevaluate why you're doing it in the first place. i did that with my classical piano training and i grew to hate it for a period of time.
