Thinking about Halloween

This is basically me rambling about Halloween this year, and I will warn that I will infodumping a little later into the entry heh

First tho, short vent: my church usually has a Halloween party every year, but they haven't announced any Halloween party and it's been a while, so I'm a little nervous. I don't really do much on Halloween night. :( Tho I suppose I could invite friends to watch Over the Garden Wall...

Second, when I was trying to decide on a Halloween costume this year, I watched some videos on last minute/low budget Halloween costume ideas, and there were some really fun ones that I now feel the need to infodump about, hehe. I'll go ahead and share some (I'm listing these with the assumption that you might have a few craft materials or costume parts from Halloween past, but not much else).

Cat - Pretty straightforward, just some black clothes, a pair of cat ears, and then use makeup to draw a cat nose and whiskers on your face!

Scarecrow - Just wear the most country-looking clothes you have along with a wide-brimmed hat, then use makeup or washable markers to draw stitches on your face, and maybe a scarecrow nose (those triangle shaped patches)

Holy cow - I'm considering wearing this one on Halloween night, hehe. There's a couple of versions you could do. The one I saw online was something like a cow print shirt, bottoms of your choice, angel wings, and a halo. My own version is a Greek god costume from a store, then add cow ears!

Pirate - Long red bandana, white peasant top or button-up shirt, black pants.

Pig in a blanket - Pig ears and/or pig nose, and a blanket!

Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service - Navy blue dress, red headband and/or big red hairbow, and a broom! Bonus if you also have a black cat plushie

Strawberry Shortcake - This one kinda depends on the version, but you can always just do a shirt with pink and/or red stripes, jeans, and a big, pink hat! Bonus if your hair is pink or red. Might be good to add strawberry themed accessories. You could also do a duo or group costume and have friends dress as Strawberry Shortcake's friends.

This one is my own idea: Greg from Over the Garden Wall! Just need a white top, green overalls, and a teapot. Bonus if you have a toy frog

Kermit sipping tea meme - Long sleeved light green shirt, make some kind of green frill, and carry a big teacup, bonus if it says Lipton

Another silly idea of mine: A Dungeons and Dragons game master - Jeans, t-shirt with something related to D&D or generally geeky on it, makeup to look like dark bags under your eyes, and add something like a D&D handbook, bag of dice, or one suggestion from a friend, a water bottle labelled 'problem players' tears' xD

Leftovers - Cover yourself in aluminum foil

Ceiling fan - Bottoms of your choice (tho a cheerleader skirt would work well), a t-shirt with 'I <3 the ceiling!' written on it, and optional pom poms

Kim Possible - Black gloves, long sleeve black top, green cargo pants

Another idea of mine: a ventriloquism dummy! A suit, dress, or whatever formal clothes you have, then draw the lines beneath a dummy's mouth under yours, and do either makeup with a heavy blush or just use a red washable marker and draw circles on your cheeks

If I'm able to have both a Halloween party and Halloween night, I'm honestly considering wearing the holy cow costume on Halloween night when I'm handing out candy xD As for a party, I have this fun idea of dressing as a rubberhose cartoon character - a pair of black cat ears, black and white clothes, makeup cat nose, and cartoon gloves (like what you see Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny wear)! I really hope I get to have some kind of partyy
