Thus we strive on poison

I was born with poison in my flesh, though it did not consume me nor did it control me, I ached from the weight of it, I was born a weakling but the poison was dormant, hidden underneath my skin, in the depths of my stomach threatening to spill out of my soul and into the earth.

As time went on i realized i was not the only one who had been poisoned, my parents, teachers, siblings, neighbors and friends, they all had poison dripping from their skin, their nose, their ears, their eyes — but they couldn’t see it, they couldn’t see what they had become, they did not want to see. Instead they made sure it spread, contaminating one another like a fly to food left untouched. Humans are filled of poison but we thrive on it, we poison with our words, our hands and our bodies, we do it with revenge tearing at our soul, with the need for power, the urge to quench our insecurity, to never be wrong and to never be alone.

These realizations left me feeling triggered and filled with chaos, the poison in my soul once dormant was forced to spill all over leaving nothing untouched, my greatest fear has manifested, the loop continues.

I hid myself away, crawling into the darkness to bleed out what was left of the poison in me, in hopes that it would somewhat, somehow elicit a change but i was wrong the darkness drank it all and i was left to rot.
