The shift from the skater vibe to the mall-goth/nu-metal styling leather wrist cuffs, and graphic tees represents the authentic counter-cultures of the time rather than a generic "retro alt" aesthetic ‍ Do you see the difference? Of course you do! Older brother core isn't some dark dumb style that over uses this skull cyber sigilism.....THING! Now do you get what I'm Sayin? Bands like SOAD embedded overt political activism into nu-metal like the Armenian Genocide, US imperialism, plus the prison-industrial complex So uh, that's the style I think that's the politics that's the fashion that's the music.
