Tips for being a woman or feminine person + slight history lesson

1: GOSSIP. Women gossiping has always existed, and part of it happened in places called "birthing rooms" where women and mothers would help the woman giving birth go through that absolutely agonizing experience. And in a place like this, they would talk about their lives, husbands, and it would become clear who's being abused. Talk about who's acting weird, talk about who's being sharp with their lover, TALK. So many men even nowadays are treating women like toddlers who need to be supervised, and this is BECAUSE when women talk to each other, they recognize abuse and can get help.
Isolating is the first thing an abuser does to you. It's not cute if a guy gets upset when you're hanging out with your friends; He wants you to be dependent so he can get away with what he wants.
2: Parking garages are a dangerous place to be. Everything is kinda dangerous, but here especially. Please please please please please have somebody there with you if you go. If you cant, then call somebody while you're there, and get out of there FAST.
3: Keys do not intimidate men. If you are close enough to stab with a key, then you are TOO close. An umbrella or otherwise long object that you can use to attack them at a distance is better, especially if you do not have a gun or a sword casually on hand.
4: Tell people where you're going. Not your parents if you don't trust them, but a friend or acquantiance or literally anybody. Even better, have them track your location, so they can immediately know if you're being taken somewhere you don't want to go.
5: Read dark romance books, especially if social cues are hard for you. It sounds somewhat counterintuitive, but trust me on that. If you find that sort of thing interesting, then it's infinitely safer to explore that in fiction and fiction alone. And even if you don't like that thing, your brain runs on patterns and seeing the creepy things the love interest will do can make you more aware of escalating situations in real life.
6: Please please have some kind of weapon, anything at all. A pocket knife, pepper spray, your fucking heels, I don't care. have something for the love of the stars, please.
7: Please remember that, in this world, you are looked at like prey by so many men. Not a human, not an equal, but prey. And those men are the predators that you need to learn how to sniff out. Listen for any footsteps that aren't your own, sniff the air for shitty cologne, and be AWARE of the space around you, of who is around you, and what is nearby.
8: Please trust your gut. We are animals, and so we have instincts that train us how to survive. If your gut is screaming that something is wrong, it's a much better idea to avoid it (in the context of men).
9: Don't be afraid to act out of your fucking mind. If some guy approaches you and compliments you and you feel unsafe, tell him that the voices tell you the same thing. Tell him that he reminds you of your dad that tripped into a meat grinder. Tell him that his nose holes would look so much better if they were in the place of his eyes. They RELY on you acting normal while they are creepy, so if you act out of your fucking head, they will likely be weirded out and find you not worth the trouble.

That's all I can think of right now. If this seems like a lot to remember, then I recommend just trying to follow your more animalistic instincts? Keep an eye out for anything dangerous, trust your gut, safety in crowd, etc. Stay safe, all
