I know redditors would be pissed, since this isn't what "chud" means, but I can use whatever word I want. Ha! :P
Anyways, on to the actual blog.
So basically, the premise of this is very simple:
I've finished highschool, I'm unemployed, and so far most of my newly free days have been spent playing videogames, watching Instagram Reels, and not much else.
As relaxing and liberatory as it felt to not do shit all day, I did eventually get bored of it, pretty much at the beginning of August. So, you might ask, why are you only doing something about it now, near the end of august⁉
Well, I actually was already trying towards the end of July, it was just never a particularly planned-out attempt, and I kept falling into the same habits over and over again.
Now, on the other hand, I've started better organizing my efforts, and simply just trying harder.
And how's that been going? Well, here's the summary.
The first three days, that is last weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) were the first three days of this endeavour. I wanted to do stuff, but I wasn't really sure if I had a goal, so I just went with it.
I wrote in my diary, finishing the old journal and starting a new one.
I vlogged the first two days, and the first vlog is on YouTube although I still never finished editing the second one. I didn't document the third day, because it was supremely uninteresting and I had no desire to post it. I decided that at the end of the day, though, so I still took all the clips.
I painted two patches that were meant for my military pants, one SHARP logo patch and the other one with 1312. I sewed the 1312 one onto my pants, while listening to podcasts by the Revolutionary Communist International.
On the second day, I spent a few hours taking care of myself, washed my hair, used my nicest soap, did hair and face masks, lotion, everything I possibly could to pamper myself. I've never felt so soft and clean...
I read 10 pages of Lenin's "Extremism", on the first day, then didn't feel like reading any more on either of the other two days.
I painted a rather lewd but very meaningful self-portrait, using quite a few different kinds of paint, that I'm very proud of at the moment.
I cleaned my room, and the closet room, and my bathroom, out of sheer, unadulterated boredom.
The fourth day, Monday, was spent with my boyfriend. We spent time cuddling in bed, and went on a date to the amusement park.
My favorite ride was the one that slung us into the air upside down, called "the explorer", his favorite was the bumper cars. I've always been a huge fan of the more intense rides.
My boyfriend left on the fifth day, in the afternoon.
I spent that afternoon reading more of "Extremism", making it through a 15-page chapter, which doesn't sound like a lot, but when you're reading something as boring as economical theory, it feels like forever.
I also took a shower, and tidied up what we had misplaced while together.
Today is the sixth day, in which I've added a new goal into the mix: Trying not to doomscroll, in any way, especially not Instagram Reels.
For now, it's been a success! I didn't so much as open Instagram today, which is VERY surprising, considering that even in my previous five days of trying to be more productive, I'd still spent hours on there. I guess it's just so devoid of substance that despite being addictive, you still can't find yourself really missing it.
Aside from my grand success in not doomscrolling, today wasn't particularly productive. I spent some time on here trying to code (and failing), talked to my boyfriend a bit, played Tomodachi Life, drew the background for a mini comic strip I'm making, and read the second-to-last chapter of "Extremism".
I'll finally finish that blasted book tomorrow, after which I plan to take a small, fiction-oriented break, and then dedicate myself to "Salary, Price and Profit".
That's the end of the blog!
If you're wondering why I wrote this on day six and not day seven, the answer is I dunno! I felt like writing it when I sat down at my computer, so i did :]
I might write a blog about tomorrow, then after that I'll be at a metal festival for 3 days, so probs pretty inactive.
Bye!
