I need to know if I'm the A-hole for this situation but me and my stepmom are not on good terms, like we are neutral but lately, its gotten messy.
1, I'm turning 15 in April and since I'm Hispanic, I'm having my quince, if you dont know what that is, its basically where a party is celebrated for the girl turning 15 to show that she is becoming of age. My stepmom made a big deal, saying only girls who listen and dont disrespect their parents can have quinces, I literally cried in the shower after that.
2, Any time we argue, she points out my insecurities and makes me feel like I did something wrong when all I'm trying to do is be heard.
I need to know if I'm being selfish or an A-hole for arguing back and having the urge to just run to my aunts house and stay with her for a little bit (I'm gonna go with my aunts on Friday probably because of everything piling on me)

you should really have a talk with your father about this, reading your comments too, i'd say some of this can even count as emotional abuse. i'm not saying get cps involved, but maybe start documenting everything she tells you. just a tip! you're not being selfish for arguing back, that's just normal and healthy human behaviour. hope you get to have a quince!
