weird dream...

Okay so i had a dream that wasn't exactly a nightmare? but also kinda was. A lot of things happened in it but i only remember the ending part...

I was in a very tall building, on the lower ground floor, which obviously, is the floor below the ground floor. normal stuff. I want to get to the third floor, so i get in the lift (elevator) and click the third floor button, as you do. 

(in hindsight, it was shaking and making a rattling noise before I got in. stupid idea to still get in anyway lol. never would've done that irl. Dream logic, yk?)

Anyway, you know how you can feel the way a lift is moving, even though you technically can't see it moving? Well it starts accelerating. 

Downwards. 

Usually, this would be terrifying, you know, where is it taking me? am i going to die? will i be stuck forever? these are the sorts of thoughts that run through your mind. But I was calm. Wholly and completely calm. And when I woke up, even though I was technically forced awake by my dream, I was calm too. No heart racing or anything. 

More context for why this should've been terrifying! I am scared of lifts.

(they all scream "BOOOO!!! YOU'RE SUCH A WUSS!!!")

I won't start like screaming or making a scene or anything, but I am always a bit wary stepping into one, and if the stairs aren't too long, or there's an escalator nearby, I'll take that instead. A confined metal box inside a long, deep chamber where it is not just possible, but a common occurrence to get stuck in one? And there's the potential of falling to your death?! No thank you... not unless I have to. 

Which makes this even more weird. I don't feel any more scared of lifts after the dream. I think if I was to get into the one in my building right now, I would feel nothing. Which is strange.

Have I been cured? Has my dream inadvertently stopped my wariness of lifts by showing me the worst-case scenario? Can any dream experts or psychologists weigh in on this? pls and thx in advance.
