This is not TikTok. Having “followers” gets you nothing, it’s not like you can get famous here. They are not even called followers for a reason. Are those people spending time friend-requesting thousands of people randomly? Why? I could understand if they had a famous vlog or if they were famous artists or whatever, but this is usually not the case, and with "usually" I mean never. So what’s up? These people always friend-request me, and they have nothing interesting going on. Why?

they spend time sending requests. here (but mostly spacehey) i’ve had several accounts like that repeatedly send a request. it’s absurd, i have to block them so i don’t get any more. for me, it’d just create a clutter of notifications and content that i’m not interested in. in a place like this it’s normal and almost expected of someone to interact with their “friends” in the form of comments, likes, and messages. it serves no purpose to have that many except just to feel popular or promote something -but many don’t. just random people wanting to feel cool i guess. it’d be alright if they interacted with whom they request, but ofc they don’t.
