Honeslty i dont understand whats wrong with adding a amount of people, of course if you're NEVER gonna interact with them then whats the point, but like its okay to have casual friends that you dont speak to every single day.
i'd rather have friends i speak a few times a week with rather than forcing myself to speak TONS every hour with them.
even my friends ive had for years i dont speak with EVERYDAY, plus its okay to not have full on conversations.
i feel like a lot of people arent as socially awkward as they think, some people and society is just VERY socially pressuring to have a quota of how much you talk per day.

Maybe they see it as followers. I do have a friend who hit 100 and he said he's greatful for each of those, we talk every now and then

I personally limit myself because that dependency hurts when you lose a friend, but I know a lot of people use that dependency to cope with everyday life, and thats why many talk with only a few people constantly (As I see it that is, im sure there are other reasons as well, including differing situations.)
ooh yeah i get that!
