What names I would give my future kids

I often think about my own future family, including having children. It might seem a bit strange for a teenage girl, but that’s my blog I write whatever I want. 

Over time, I’ve come up with lots of names I’d like to give my future kiddos, and now I’m going to yap about them

Dekabrina - I like the way it sounds – that December vibe, winter and all that – although I’m not quite sure what to call daughter with that name for short form; that’s really important. is a rare Soviet post-revolutionary female name derived from the name of the month December. It symbolises a winter birth, cosiness and warmth. I hope shes not gonna go missing like another december girl with holiday as last name-

Akulina - an ancient female name, meaning ‘female eagle’ or ‘eagle-like’ (from the Latin aquila, meaning ‘eagle’). In Ancient Russia, it evolved from the form Akilina (or Aquilina). It has nothing to do with sharks, but in Russian it literally sounds like ‘SHARK-ina’, which I certainly can’t help but really like 

Ramona - really beautiful name (Scott Pilgrim...) The name essentially means ‘wise protector’, ‘prudent protector’ or ‘advisor and protector’ 

Vasilisa – I’m not really keen on the full form of the name, but I really like the short form, Vasya; it sounds typically for a boy (it’s a unisex nickname), but I like how it sounds for a girl 

Varvara - sounds like Barbarian in Russian, it kinda form of the name Barbara.

Penelope - sounds like old money, and penny is so cute. an ancient Greek female name meaning ‘weaver’ or ‘duck’ it so silly

Kereli - It’s a pretty Yakut name. 

Ella - A cute, short name, like Cinderella. 

Jacqueline - It’s quite an elegant name, but I prefer the shortened form, Jackie – after Jackie Lynn Thomas from svtfoe. I’d jokingly call my daughter Jackie Chan. translated as "the one who will overtake" that's badass

Zoya - Sweet name, rural area vibe bc i live in one. It means life so very good

Lunette - I doubt I’d name my child that – it’s a bit too fancy, but it’s still very pretty. Means lil moon

Praskovya - Because of the song with that name. I really like the shortened form of the name, "Pana" even though the name itself is very old-fashioned. 

Mayday - I ADORE this name, I love the month of May, although May nights are better than May days. 

Destiny - Cool as hell. 

Maya - Since Mayday sounds too foreign, Maya might be my alternative choice

Victoria - It’s a family tradition.

Alyona - after Alyona Shvets, whose songs I grew up listening to. 

Augustine - Because of the song with that name. Quite lovely and elegant. 

Vasily - Just as with Vasilisa, I prefer the shortened form of this name, Vasya, and I could also call him Vasilek (Cornflower in Russian) 

Dominic - sounds cool

Joey - sound like Joy. I don’t really like how ‘Joseph’ sounds in Russian, so let’s treat it as a separate name  

Theodore - Like a chipmunk, if seriously it’s a lovely name, but probably a bit too fancy. 

Konstantin - why not, one of the most typical names for russia in this list, plus this character from dc. 

Albert - My teacher told me she didn’t like that name, so it’s my duty. Means bright/dazzling

Aisen - for some reason

Thomas - I would call him Toma hehe it would be so cute 

Noah - I swear it's not because of Noah from td. It's just a beautiful name 

Christian - really love the sound of it, but I don't like short form of it "Chris" I have negative associations with that 

Mekken - This is the name of the Dolgan artist Boris Molchanov, as people used to write Russian names on official documents but were known by different names within their families. I love Boris Molchanov’s work and enjoyed reading about his life. As I am Dolgan myself, I would like my children to be proud of their identity, and unfortunately, Mekken is almost the only Dolgan name I know. 

Lucas - the movie luca was pretty cute. And I just like the vibe of this name 

Oscar - cute, I have good associations with that name

Abei and Appa - It’s something like an exclamation of surprise, but in a negative sense in my native language. I promised my cousin to name my kids like this 😭 

Samuel - Most cool character I saw was named Sam. Can mean "God has heard" 

Kurt - Do I need to explain? German meaning bold counsel and Turkish, meaning wolf lol. It is largely derived as a shortened form of the Germanic name Konrad (or Conrad) and is also used as a surname, often denoting strength or advisor statues. 

Dustin - because it similar with Destiny 

Tristan - sounds vampire-ish (но я думаю над ним бы шутили про Триста) meaning ‘noise’, ‘rebellion’ which is big plus, or ‘little king’ 

Almost all these names sound very strange in the country where I live, but who knows—maybe I’ll move away or stop caring what other people think
