What the fuck is wrong with people??? (TW!! Murder)

I don't often speak out about stuff like this, becasue I choose to protect my peace and not get involved with stuff that isn't going on in my space. I still hope these people get help, but I don't have the mental space to constantly talk about it.

My country, Australia, is pretty safe and aside from the One Nation political party threat going on. There is very rarely nationwide shock. Last nationwide shock being the Bondi mass shooting in December of 2025 after the 1996 Port Arthur Historic Site massacre which started Australian gun laws.

This event, however? Happened in my town, five minutes up the road from my suburb.

In the early hours of August 2nd around 1:20am, two smashed up cars were found in a pub carpark and a man in his late 20's was found heavily injured in a bus shelter outside the same pub. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. He had a wife and children. Two men in their 30's were found near the scene, got arrested and interrogated by homicide investigators. It was said there was an altercation between these three men. The next day, the police and homicide crew blocked off a whole strip of road from the roundabout down to one of the shop road exits, both lanes of traffic. The pub it happened outside of remained open during the whole time police were investigating. The same day police were gathering information, the two men were charged with murder.

These two men, allegedly assaulted this 29 year old with a metal pole. Information is still coming out and is at the courts as we speak. It's also alleged by witnesses that the fight had spilled out into the road.

Rest in peace, Trent, far too young to die, should not have been murdered in such a horrific way
