I miss a place I've never known, A place that somehow feels like home. Where every street feels familiar ,And every sunset feels like my own. I know the sound of the midnight rain, The way the wind whispers through the trees. I know the roads I've never walked, And the songs carried by its breeze. I miss the windows glowing gold, The empty streets at half past two. The feeling of being somewhere safe, Somewhere I swear I once knew. I've never stood beneath its skies, Never touched its soil or breathed its air. Yet something in my heart insists That a piece of me is waiting there. And isn't it strange, to long for a home That exists only somewhere in your mind? To grieve for memories you've never made, And miss a life you've left behind? Maybe it's a place from another lifetime, Or somewhere my dreams go when I sleep. Maybe it's not a place at all, But a feeling I've been trying to keep. And if I ever find it, I wonder if I'll cry Not because I've finally arrived, But because I'll recognize it
As somewhere I've been missing all my life.
