Why do people label everything a disability?

Not to be one of Those People, but you cannot complain about ANYTHING without someone trying to medicalize it or turn it into some sort of symptom. I was talking with a friend about how I struggle to focus and start tasks sometimes and he was like "Oh, you must have ADHD." When I assured him that I am Not disabled he got upset and began arguing the point? It seems like everyone my age is constantly attempting to armchair diagnose everyone around them. I'm not saying that disabilities aren't real, but basic personality traits and emotions that everyone has are now being treated as symptoms. Entirely neurotypical people will say "oh, I'm so OCD teehee" because they're afraid of germs or describe their regular-degular interests as "hyperfixations." Not to mention those people that describe themselves being mildly socially awkward sometimes as them "having a touch of the 'tism" or staying inside during summer as "bedrotting."

It's incredibly irritating and contributes to people not taking people with real mental health issues seriously.
