Why It Sucks To Be A Bi Woman

Sometimes I kind of hate being a bi and wish I were just straight/lesbian instead because being a bisexual entails always getting your identity policed by both straight and queer people. You are constantly forced to make up excuses to convince them that you're valid.

Straight men fetishize you and don't take your attraction for women seriously, thinking of it as a sexy quirk, thus why they don't mind their girlfriends being overly touchy with their girl friends (these dudes are genuinely just cucks), or, if you're slightly more lucky, they'll see it as "cool, we can ogle girls together" (which is disgusting, women who allow that are cucks too).Β

Some(!!) lesbians avoid you at best because apparently being with a man in the past or gosh forbid liking men is a crime that automatically makes a woman 'tainted' (patriarchal logic, by the way). And gosh FORBID you admit that you're a men-leaning bi, because they're gonna use it as a 'gotcha' to prove that you're just a straight girl that wants to seem cool. They refuse to acknowledge that bisexuality is a spectrum and not every bi person has 50/50 attraction to men and women respectively. To me it's more like 65/35, and you'll never catch me dead admitting that in front of THOSE people.

They have a favorite line.Β "You're fake because you've never dated a woman!" bih the last time I ever dated a boy was when I was 12, and then I had a wlw situationship at 13-14, how is it my fault that I never had anyone afterwards?? Why should I date people (might as well just end the sentence here) based solely on their gender just so some random on the Internet was sure I'm not 'fake'? Do you think everyone is a party animal that meets 50 new people everyday? Do you think everyone lives in USA/any other progressive country where people are not so afraid of admitting they're queer and dating their gender? Why should I always go out of my way to make excuses and reveal parts of my private life in the first place just to make someone respect my identity? Would you call a gay man fake just because he dated a woman in the past and demand he shows a list of his boyfriends? Would you ask a trans person to show their genitals just so you could be sure they're 'actually' trans??

While I understand where some of these prejudices might come from (I myself had a misfortune of knowing a 'bi' girl that dated girls just for shits and giggles), it's concerning how SOME people in LGBTQ+ community are quick to generalize a whole group of people just based on the actions of the few. Do they not realize that this is the exact same logic our oppressors used and STILL use to justify their bigotry?

Be respectful and don't police people's identities guys. Peace:wave:

asexuality is more about having a lack of sexual interest for people. I think romance is a separate issue?Β
