honestly I believe it's because scene/scenecore was very popular with alternative minors back in '00s and many people took advantage of these minors whether it be because of possible mental health issues or an unsafe environment. plus people are just weird xd..
thankfully it has gotten somewhat better in today's day and age but it still kinda sucks cuz..fat orange man is president and everybody just be hatin on everybody
