according to my biological father, she was a part of a group in the 60s who were pretty popular at the time. i looked them up, and damn, what the hell went wrong??

martha reeves is in her eighties i think, and yes, vocal chords loosen up as you get older, but gyatt damn that was some bullshit T_T im not sure she even realizes how off she sounds. she allegedly claimed the sound was off and she couldnt hear herself, HOWEVER, her background singers were in an entirely different key in the beginning and she realized and adapted to their key. pretty sure you've got to hear yourself to be able to do that-

and when you look up their rehearsals, she sounded exactly the goddamn same! and THEN, when you listen to her singing in that interview, she sounds exactly the goddamn same!

MIND YOU,

she was the one nagging her background singers during rehearsals calling THEM off-key. so she can hear them, but she can't hear...herself? her vibrato is wobbly due to them loose ass vocal chords. even without the vibrato, im pretty sure she's still incredibly sharp... ay caramba someone has to tell her ._.
