Yap of the Day (17/6/26)

Hey folks!

Today felt much more fulfilling than the last. I had a catch-up with one of the uni support staff today just to wrap things up before graduating. I'm going to go see her one last time before I head off for good. She's honestly been a total lifesaver for the past 5 years while I've been muddling through my degree. I'm so glad to be at the end of it but I will very much miss her.

As mentioned yesterday, I went for my haircut and it's so much better than the last time. I'm a pretty private guy on here but I have been deeply tempted to show it off because I feel really good with it. Plus, my barber is a really nice guy and super cheap for city rates (£20). We got to have a chat about barbering and how the pace of the work goes since I'm planning to train as a barber once I move to Ireland. I'm looking forward to having a more practical pursuit for a change. I have been in non-stop education since I was like 4-5 years old, so changing to something more hands-on like barbering is going to be super refreshing I think. While it's still, of course, technically being in education, it's very much different to sitting at a desk for 8-12 hours a day cramming for assignments.

I also got to enjoy a takeaway and some Twin Peaks with my boyfriend and one of our close friends. It was a nice and relaxing way to finish the day off. I do worry about out friend, though. He seems to be struggling a lot and I see a lot of my own issues within him. I want nothing more than to help and I'm trying to figure out how to go about that. We're kinda keen for him to move to Ireland alongside us. Not straight away, but I think experiencing the expanse of the world as an adult would give him some fresh perspective and a bit of hope. In the meantime, I've offered to go over to see him during the day tomorrow to help square up his house and get it feeling fresh for him to relax in for a while. We're going to watch more Twin Peaks once my boyfriend finishes work. I hope that he takes me up on my offer of helping to tidy his place up and make it a more pleasurable experience than having to try and push through it himself.

I've been waiting for my melatonin to kick in as I write this, so I'm off to try and sleep now. Fingers crossed it's a restful one since I have a killer stomachache from medication that I'm on. I want to be in decent shape for tomorrow. Have a good day/night wherever you are, reader. Take care of yourself.

Kisses,

Luke
