For a majority of my life I grew up in a very small suburb town where everyone knew everybody. Mainly due to the fact that I was visibly different and very shy, I never had a good time in any social environment. Now, as an adult, I am trying my best to fix how I was perceived but old habits die hard.
But do you believe you would have ended the same way regardless of where you were born or how you were raised?
Life would be different and I would be a different person. I believe we are 80 percent environment (especially before we reach age 12) and 10 percent genetics.
i really think that if i hadnt been in online school when i was, which didnt help that was around covid time though i was already in it before and after some time of the pandemic, i wouldve been different socially and mentally. i realized i had to undo a lot of anxiety with others HOWEVER i do think i felt much more casual in expressing myself in other ways when i dont think i wouldve felt the same in public school from past experience. so while i think i was a bit stunted with creating real life friendships and my confidence, i think i was able to find new and better ways to express myself :) bit of a give or take, cant say what i believed to be temporary isolated-induced psychosis was any good though, so...
I think I would’ve taken longer to, but I feel like I would’ve still ended up who I am now. I’ve always been opinionated, loud, bold, and true to myself! I don’t think that would’ve changed one bit.
I would like to think so. Perhaps I would've spread my wings much earlier and have easily fit into the turning cogs of society
some things would still be the same, but i would probably differ in others.
