so basically… im an avid roguelike enjoyer

Favorite games are Binding of Isaac, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk (if you have no idea that is, think Jet Set Radio’s child), Stardew Valley, older Minecraft

Trying to expand my taste (I bought shit like Cruelty Squad and Psychonauts today and am planning to play them, alongside RDR2)

What should i play???

Boy do I have some games for you!!!!

  • Charlie Murder
  • Five Nights at Frickbear's 3
  • Castle Crashers
  • Death Road to Canada
  • PvZ, the first one not the second one
  • Peggle
  • Terraria
  • AntonBall
  • Starbound

Enter the Gungeon if you like roguelikes!

Scarlet Nexus is a neat game with cool gameplay

MOTORSLICE is a good parkour game

The entire Yakuza franchise is a series of fantastic games. Although I would recommend pirating the original 0, Kiwami 1 and Kiwami 2 since the steam versions are downgraded remakes(no clue how they fucked up the graphics that hard)

Metal Gear Rising is a great "hype moments and aura" game with impeccable gameplay and OST

@Nehiri Played ETG before and liked it (not as much as TBOI doe)

Haven’t heard the next two but I HAVE been meaning to get to mgs (cuz of my friend) and yakuza (because it looks cool)

brazilian drug dealer 3

mindwave (still a demo but its worth playing methinks)

baldi's basics plus (one of the only rougelikes that i enjoy)

It might be a bit different so I don’t blame you if you feel it’s not for you, but i recommend Hypnospace outlaw! It’s set in an alternate timeline early 90’s where you play as an internet cop moderating wacky sites. It’s like 20 bucks or so on steam

@Merevelocity

Huge on this one! If you're on this site, you'll enjoy this game

@tedforpres2020 I neeeeed more ppl to play this game. Still one of my favourite 20 dollar games of all time and it goes on sale sometimes for an absolute steal so more people should definitely check it out sometime

@Merevelocity Love that game, even 100%d it

If you like history and art, I think Pentiment would be a great choice!

if you play cruelty squad and like it, play psycho patrol r by the same developer.

  • Sephiria

  • The Henry Stickmin Collection

Strip your EXIF

omg, you should try detroit becomes human and life is strange (theres more lis games, I didn't play all of them yet, but it is so good)- these two really make you just stop in the middle of playing and be like "what". Peak games trust

Based on your favorites, I think you'd probably enjoy a mix of games that either have the same vibe or do something completely different but equally memorable.

If you like The Binding of Isaac, I'd definitely recommend Enter the Gungeon, Nuclear Throne, Risk of Rain 2, Dead Cells, and Hades. They're all roguelikes, but each one has its own personality. Enter the Gungeon especially scratches that "one more run" itch really well.

Since you liked Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, I'd also check out Hi-Fi Rush, Sunset Overdrive, Lethal League Blaze, and if you somehow haven't played it already, the original Jet Set Radio. They all have that stylish, energetic feel with great music and lots of personality.

For the cozy side with Stardew Valley, I'd recommend Fields of Mistria, Roots of Pacha, Dinkum, or Spiritfarer. Spiritfarer is especially beautiful if you're okay with something more emotional.

And because you mentioned older Minecraft, I'd honestly suggest trying Terraria if you haven't already. It looks simple at first, but there's an insane amount of progression and exploration. Core Keeper is another really fun one if you like mining and building.

Since you're trying to expand your taste, though, I'd also throw in a few games that don't necessarily match your favorites but left a huge impression on me:

Outer Wilds – one of the best exploration games ever made. Go in completely blind if you can.

Disco Elysium – if you don't mind reading, it's one of the most unique RPGs I've ever played.

SIGNALIS – incredible survival horror with a really memorable atmosphere.

Return of the Obra Dinn – basically a giant detective puzzle where you piece together what happened to an entire ship's crew.

Inscryption – starts as a card game... and then becomes something completely different. Don't look up spoilers.

Also, great choices with Psychonauts and RDR2. Psychonauts has so much creativity packed into it, and RDR2 is one of those games that just pulls you into its world. I'd say take your time with it instead of rushing the story.

Honestly, I think your taste leans toward games with a strong identity more than a specific genre, so I'd keep looking for games that have a unique style or atmosphere rather than just chasing gameplay. Those are usually the ones that stick with you the longest.

I always suggest older games, Half-Life and Portal (and their sequels) are amazing. Same with Skyrim and the rest of the Elder Scrolls series. the Oblivion remake is great. I also suggest the Fallout games. Dark Souls and Elden Ring are also really good if you want a challenge.

I like the games by Two Point Studios, their latest is Two Point Museum, which is a nice management game.

Vampire Survivors, EASILY. That game is like instant dopamine. Every single sound and animation triggers the Happy Chemicals, it's fantastic.

❝ Smartasses get killed. We always see to that. ❞ — The Legion
