what do you do when you're bored?

Back to General Discussion

so, i've been finding myself extremely bored this summer. i don't have anybody to hang out with, i can't go anywhere i want since i can't drive (also it's extremely hot 99% of the time so i can't walk without feeling like i'm gonna pass out).

so what do you do when you're bored inside? i usually draw, listen to music, or play a few games but that's gotten repetitive quick. maybe you guys can help me find something new to do :p

I watch shows. It doesn’t have to be something new, especially if you like rewatching old shows. If you really like drawing and have made some characters of your own, you can join Artfight. Artfight is an annual gift-giving game that happens every July. You attack (draw) someone’s OC and other people can also attack your characters.

@Epicsself i actually did used to watch shows a lot when i was bored, but i haven't in a WHILE. not sure why i stopped though. i could get back into it. also, i actually am on art fight lol. i have some attacks i need to revenge but i'm taking a small break from drawing currently, i plan to get back on track soon

usually i just scour the web for other places (such as this one) but im a born netizen in that respect, but its never bad to get more groups of friends from the web

you could always try picking up some new hobby from home, i got into writing that way! (plus outside inspo but it could be anything)

only other thing i can reccomend is something i like doing personally, that being, toying with Virtual Machines and doing fun stuff in them

@Jonothan ooo yes i've wanted to write more. my problem though is i'm not sure what i want to write about most of the time. usually when i have thoughts i tend to talk out loud to myself about it, but i wanna try and write that stuff down instead.

also i LOVE messing with virtual machines. a while ago i was trying to destroy each windows version i could. i did windows xp, vista, accidentally skipped 7 so then i was in the middle of destroying 8.1, but i forgot about it lol. your reply reminded me of it though and i might just get back and continue it's the destruction.

@Meriamelie

if journaling is your thing, id highly recommend that. my creative process is usually just spitting out the first whispers of ideas i have and worrying about the details of it later, just building onto them gradually, but whatever gets words on the page is what you should do!

also hell yes, i presume you like the Joel series on windows destructions too? glad to meet another like me :-3

@Jonothan yeah, i started a digital journal a while back but i haven't written on it in weeks because of what i described above, i just really gotta get myself to write out my random thoughts instead of blurting them out loud to myself.

and YES LMAO i have absolutely loved joel's windows destruction series since i was younger and it's legacy lives on in my heart. i was actually binge rewatching them a few weeks ago and that's why i started my own VM destructions lmfao

@Meriamelie

well i wish you luck on that, journaling did alot for me both for creativity and clearing my head. also id love to see if you ever do any creative writing as one who partakes myself : )

also YES fellow Joel fans rise, his Vista one was my favorite, second to the 98 destruction

@Jonothan i would love to do creative writing but i do not think i am good at it at all lol. occasionally i'll try and write a poem about something and it turns out just very mediocre and boring

i think joel's xp destruction is my favorite, i have rewatched that one so many times i think it might be a little concerning. but of course i love all of the destructions for the absolute BS that just goes on. thank you joel for ruining my sense of humor at a young age

@Meriamelie

hey i thought the same too but, who cares about the quality of it! its fun to get ideas down and make things for fun, you dont gotta impress anybody!

real shit lolol, i still quote the ViaVoice shit to this day
