I never read The Enemy or The Hatchet, but I recommend World War Z by Max Brooks. Completely UNLIKE the movie named after it.

Another +1 for WWZ!The movie did it no justice and the book is unlike anything else I've read except for the the WW2 book that largely inspired it. Tons of good fan fiction related to the novel as well!
