could be about anything, genre, artists, or the industry itself

Idol culture is not as bad as people make it out to be and it's no different than any other part of the entertainment industry.
Most people only see the negative of it because they never interact with the culture itself and their only exposure to it is popular works that exaggerate the negative parts of it for plot.(Oshi No Ko, Perfect Blue etc.)
When people never see the culture outside of these popular horror/drama works they assume that's all it is.
They also act like all these women in the idol industry are braindead and are forced to work in it or tricked into working in it. Most idols are people who were infatuated with idol work from a young age and have been working day and night to make their dreams a reality.
Yes, they know all the work they will have to put in
Yes, they are aware of the rules of the culture
No one told them these after they became idols, they knew long before they officially became idols.
They're accepting all of it to make their dreams a reality. To be a star that makes others happy.
"But it's parasocial to assume they're doing this to make others happy!" is a pathetic complaint I've seen so many times.
That is the point. Yes, it's parasocial. They are in fact working to make others happy. There are lines of work in the entertainment industry that are far less work intensive that they could have chosen. But this is their dream, they want to make you happy. As much as you love idols, the idols love their fans just as much. Without fans to cheer for them, they'll just be singing into the void.
Acting like all idols hate their work and are forced into it is extremely disrespectful as it discredits their years of hard work and passion, and is extremely misogynistic thinking literally all of them are stupid and doesnt know what their dream job entails.
Also all idol contracts have a time limit, no one is enslaved for life.
And yes, older people can be idols too there's plenty of examples with ample fans. Most people quit not because they're not desired anymore but because they usually can't move as well or simply just want to settle down.

No one actually “likes” country music i think everyone who says that is lying
@Somedeadpoet funnily enough i do like some country music. but i do think most of it sucks
@DROM1E idk i have yet to find one that i like
Other than Johnny Cash's music all country music is good for is aurafarming with it. All country music sound like they got that shit on but only Johnny Cash's one is good for listening to it on a daily basis

@Nehiri even Johnny cash isn’t that good tbh
a lotta death metal bands r pretty boring when it comes to the sound of their music
I like the St. Anger "snare" sound. It sounds so hilariously goofy in isolation, but once the rest of the instruments (and drums) begin to play alongside, I don't think it's all that bad. I see it as another bit of chaos on top of everything else that's going on, so when the music goes hard, it just works. I do like metallic-sounding hits in my music, so I guess that explains why I'm not that against it. xD

Deathcore/metalcore = music for sex offenders.
Sleep Token isn’t metal (apparently that ruffles a lot of feathers).
The Beatles are boring (very controversial opinion when brought up around boomers)
And several more that may result in my account being removed
@Kommando Mutiliid heavy agree on the Beatles, ive never liked them
@Kommando Mutiliid I've never been a big fan of the beatles either. It's not offensive but I don't really care, it's background easy listening to me
@Kommando Mutiliid Yeah, I agree with the thing about The Beatles, I always found them to be rather bland. I never liked their music, but maybe that has more to do with the fact I generally don’t like a lot of stuff from before the 80s lol.

Good to know there’s some more Beatles haters out there.
I like country music, shoot me! Lmao
@BULLET I like country too. Mostly classic country, like really old honky tonk stuff. I like some stuff from today though too, just not not bro country or pop country
Bad Bunny is overrated. Dude sings like he has some kind of speech impediment, it’s super unpleasant to listen to. I will never understand why he’s so popular, maybe there’s just something I’m not getting.
Latin pop in general is honestly complete garbage, most songs just talk about sex and normalize things like cheating. And it sucks how that’s what most people listen to where I live.
blurs albums are worse than oasis', but some individual blur songs can clear a lot of oasis' discography
Most people who don't like country music just have a very shallow knowledge of the genre. And/Or they associate it with people they think of as lesser: 'rednecks', 'hillbillies', baby boomers, etc.
Revelation 2:9@worldsoul agree. i feel the same with rap
People associate it with modern country; the polished shit that it is.
