Chester Bennington of Linkin park was killed by the human trafficking and pedos ring , because he, Anthony Bourdain (that famous chef) and Chris Cornell (his vocalist and one of the best friends), were working and funding a private investigation abt it, and frankly they all died very near to each other , within one year time, and the motivation of Bennington for it is that he was SA'd when he was a kid, but he never commit suicide,

Pinkerton is a great album... well, okay, I guess that isn't so much of a controversial music opinion anymore now that I think about it.

I like Yellow Magic Orchestra's later, more experimental stuff better than their 70s stuff.

Liking MCR doesn't automatically make you emo and dark😭😭😭😭

Country -including modern country- isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be, they just aren't looking at anything beyond surface level shit thats pushed out to reach the largest possible audience

@smokingintheshop

Oh well shit you said it first and I just got done sayin the same shit lol

@⸸⸸⸸𝕶𝖎𝖑𝖑𝖌𝖆𝐳𝖒𝖔𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖓⸸⸸⸸ You did, but yours is definitely more articulate lol

gatekeeping is a necessary evil to maintain distinguishable genres and not be watered down by corporations.

@herbalpoison I totally agree. esp with local music scenes

@herbalpoison

Not even evil if you do it right. Gatekeeping by itself doesn't have to be done in any vindictive mean or abusive way , least till they react in such a way.

Gatekeeping only becomes evil when its a disguise for cruelty and bullying as the point and it becomes a game about hurting people with the mask of protecting the foundations of the scene.

But gatekeeping is so fucking neciccary to keep shit from turning into "appeal to a wider audience" npc formulaic  slop dogshit.

The more something correlated with being relatable to the riff raff the more it's correlated with being meaningless slop.

The Beatles are boring, I've yet to encounter a single song of theirs that doesn't fall flat

I don't get the hype around k-pop

And I had a third one but I forgot it so I'll edit this if I ever remember it lol

Replying to @Somedeadpoet (post is on page 1): “No one actually “likes” country music i think everyone who says that is lying ”

@Somedeadpoet

It is very easy to see why someone would say this, and I'm not particularly into shit kicker tunes myself,

But what is " country music" today you would see on TV etc or modern radio,

Is a highly commercialized, pop molested corporate reproduction of what it once was and what you can find outside the " cmt" pop crap.

Again not super into it myself but it deserves a deeper look than the normies have seen on the surface.

@⸸⸸⸸𝕶𝖎𝖑𝖑𝖌𝖆𝐳𝖒𝖔𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖓⸸⸸⸸ i know i tried listening to old songs too and the “good” country music it’s just not for me and i can never understand how that’s someone’s fav genre, listening to it? Sure but fav? You’re lying lol

@Somedeadpoet

Lol aight. Some of its cultural context for sure. There are people I've known itakes total sense lol.

But yeah same I'm not into it, even the other stuff,

Just felt it deserved mentioning 😁

@⸸⸸⸸𝕶𝖎𝖑𝖑𝖌𝖆𝐳𝖒𝖔𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖓⸸⸸⸸ yeah it’s actually a really good point u brought up :)

Most black metal shouldn't be considered music.

Most rappers aren't musicians, let alone talented ones, specially the current day ones. They're just kids with too much money for beats and a studio who just want to be famous putting in as little effort as possible.

Black music peaked in the 70s.

By far.

And I love it. So I'm not just talking shit

@⸸⸸⸸𝕶𝖎𝖑𝖑𝖌𝖆𝐳𝖒𝖔𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖓⸸⸸⸸

That being said popular white music peaked mid 90s and shit for everyone been on a steep decline since .

In popular culture anyway.

Deathcore is just post-hardcore with no edge at all.

All rock music is too safe lately, including punk.

T. Rex was better than Bowie lol

@Ben Fondren
