Kyle Gordon's Parody music

Back to Music

If you do know this parody artist, it's for one of these songs.

I had found him, and his music is very entertaining and catchy. I do enjoy parody music. What do you all think?

<

I didn't know him. But I already don't hate him 😊

@Cranky Old Witch

His music is hilarious. Accurate parodies of certain time periods in music, but they also work as songs in themselves. I think that is what parody art must try.

<

I remember when he was doing skit comedy on tiktok and he was controversial bc people were saying he was making fun of neurodivergent kids in his skits, portraying them as "that one kid whose no fun" 🥴

 He is, unfortunately, a great parody artist

@Sol

Really? To say the truth, I haven't seen that myself, but I really can't trust Tiktok since I know a lot of tiktokers intentionally try to create dramas.

That being said, a lot of skits tend to accidentally create mimics of neurodivergency. I don't think the creators intend it, but, a lot of people don't think through things, and a lot of people have bad misconceptions they don't realize they do.

@furby yeah that's kinda how I viewed it. He never apologized or acknowledged it or anything but I don't think he had any ill intention. I don't have TikTok anymore anyway, so I never know what actually happened with that whole thing. This was like 4 or 5 years ago ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌

@SoI I found the video you were talking about! It appears in 2021 (so.. 5 years ago) he made tiktoks skits about "That kid thats no fun goes to dinner" In said video the kid says he doesn't want Boston Market (? Is that a restaurant?) because his mom said he has to eat healthy, demands everyone "says grace" (American christian thing) tells someone to watch their weight, and to summarize tries "correcting" everyone eating habits. I don't find this in itself ableist, but he did do an impediment imitation, which i think someone could interpret as not the best option but I don't think it was done intentionally.

What stands out however is that Kyle Gordon came out and said the character he acted as in this video was based off of how he would act as a kid. If I wanted to conspiracy theorist I would say, maybe then , Kyle Gordon is Neurodivergent himself. Maybe, or not.

Now that, I find this out and think watching the video that it's just a case of a creator of content making a joke and it not landing the best. Or say, he made this skit based off of himself as a kid but didn't think about how it could be interpreted.

@furby huh, guess I remembered wrong. It WAS 5 years ago though. Oh well _(..)_
