my fav is hardcore and my least fav is screamo/skramz wtv u wanna call it (sorry)
film & gender are a hxc/queercore band that i love! i've seen them live like 10 times they're great.
also despite you not liking screamo i do HAVE to recommend i have no mouth (srry!) because they were fantastic (now disbanded :c). they went to my college (same school as orchid!) and opened for orchid when they reunited in 2024!

Toy Crown and Dying Degree r my total favs!!! toy crown has some influence from grunge bands and r super passionate live, and dying degree is a hardcore punk kinda band who loves the younger local scene

Some bands from my area is Transmutation (hardcore punk?), Okay! Okay! (post-hardcore), Not a Horse (emoviolence?), The Locust(mathcore/powerviolence), All Leather(synth-punk), and Some Girls (hardcore punk). The last three are all bands that Justin Pearson is in :'-)
theres a lot but ill give a few. watch you fall is a metalcore band from my where i live that recently released a split through daze records and is going on tour in japan soon. its like 90s inspired metalcore sort of like arkangel, prayer for cleansing, maybe even a bit h8000 influence. i love them and have seen them several times. another is prevaricate. theyre a brutal death metal band with hardcore influence also from my county, i believe their guitarists are both in watch you fall. its heavily influenced by internal bleeding (they are named after one of their songs), entorurement, dehumanized, and obviously final resting place which is why people often label them as a final resting place copycat but i think they are a good band regardless. lastly, ill go with kind, a metallic hardcore band from my hometown. their style is very similar to early 2000s metallic hardcore. theyre good i know some of the members.
