GIRL. The bread machine has officially become a whole personality trait. I wish I could teleport you some bread to try. And yes!! My niece actually gifted me my Kindle for my birthday! I've already blown through five books since the end of September. I use Goodreads and Reddit quite a bit for recommendations, and my newest read is Kill for Me, Kill for You by Steve Cavanagh. IT IS SO GOOOOOD. I've also become a little book pirate, so if there's ever something you're looking for, let me know. ♥

My week has actually been really good! I've mostly just been working, reading, and taking things slow like a little grandma. Honestly, not a bad way to spend a week!!

I went to ONE pumpkin patch so far this year! with my mom and aunt :'3 it was so nice, we drove up north in the beginning of the month when the leaves were starting to peak it was the best. my aunt wanted cider donuts hehe, how about you love!? any patches, or orchards??? corn mazes?? festive fun stuff??? when my girlie was hereeee this past weekend we were able to go to this mansion, and tour the inside, its known to be haunted ;3 i was just really happy to be inside of it after all these years of dreaming about it!! we made plans for the middle of November to visit some other haunts too! so excited!!

also bread is the BEST its so relaxing and fun and it smells the BEST! I actually have a focaccia on its second proof right meow! i havent decided what to top it with, were gonna have potato soup and sammiches for dinner :3

Awh, that sounds so nice!! Did you get lots of pictures with your mom and aunt? And CIDER DONUTS?! That sounds like a treat I can get behind. Usually my husband and I head into the valley about 25–30 minutes outside the city to visit the pumpkin patches and look at all the colours. We haven’t gone this year, though, and now it’s snowed twice and all the pretty colours are gone. Autumn really packed her bags and LEFT ☹

A haunted mansion?! Especially one you’ve wanted to visit for years?! That sounds so fun!! Did anything spooky happen during the tour? You’ll have to tell me all about your November adventures too! Do you like watching ghost-hunting videos? I’ve been obsessed lately!!

How did your focaccia turn out, and what did you end up putting on it? I’ve never made it! Do you have a favourite recipe? Potato soup and sammiches with homemade bread sounds like such a cozy dinner. I’ll try my best to teleport some bread over to you, but if that fails, I promise to take extra bites on your behalf. A difficult job, but someone has to do it!!!! I’m actually making sourdough this weekend with my grandma’s recipe, and I am so gosh darn excited!!

HOBBY MAXXERS UNITE!!! There are simply too many fun things to do and not enough hours 😭 I did finish Kill for Me, Kill for You, and it was SO good! A solid 4 stars from me. The way it wrapped up didn’t quite land for me, but I won’t spoil anything in case you pick it up! All I’ve been reading lately is twisty thrillers, so if you ever need a rec, I GOT YOU, GIRL. Which shoujo anime have you been watching?! I love a good shoujo :3 Also, what are the three books you have out from the library? 

YES, I love using gel pens and acrylic markers too!! I’ll take pictures of the colouring I’ve done at work and put them on my wall like the true Picasso I am. The art world isn’t ready for either of us.

I am in awe and a lil jealous. My husband and I were actually looking up on travelling there for a year or two as language students! I study the language as a passion (I am still a beginner lol). How long did you get to study there? 

I am sure the milk bread you got was 10000% better, but I think my little recipe does a good job of trying! The first loaf I made was a disaster but the second loaf turned out perfectly and is going into the recipe book.♥

I would highly recommend studying abroad if you get the chance! While I was there only for 4 months, I made the most of it! I lived in Nagoya but traveled to Tokyo and Kyoto as weekend trips. It really broadened my horizons and helped me see the world outside of my tiny bubble in the US :3

I think you're right, it would really help open your horizons to how big the world is outside of North America!! That is such an amazing experience. Do you mind if I ask what you were studying while living there? While visiting Kyoto did you get a chance to visit some of the beautiful shrines or Matcha shops?! ☺

And since my experience was more for getting my minor in Japanese, I got to take some pretty cool classes at Nanzan University! Besides the obvious Japanese language class, I took a class about teaching English in Japan (since I originally thought that I wanted to be an English teacher abroad, still kinda do tbh) and a Japanese cinema class! I wanted to take a manga class as well, but it was full :,( My husband was lucky to get into the class, so he drew a really cute short story of the 2 of us as cats! I still have it to to this day, haha!

Also, I took some really awesome pictures in Kyoto since I got to go during fall! I have them saved on my hard drive, so I could probably post some on this site if you'd ever wanna see them!

That is honestly so inspiring! I can only imagine how much time, patience, and dedication it took to study both Chinese and Japanese. And getting to take those classes at Nanzan University sounds like such an incredible experience! A Japanese cinema class sounds right up my alley, haha.

We actually will be going to Japan again in 2028 or 2029 since my mom and brother have never been there! It's really exciting since I haven't been there since 2022! As for manga, my husband unfortunately has not drawn anything else since, so the one thing he did draw is definitely a treasure <3

Also, my Halloween plans are pretty chill! I'm going over to my mom's house to hand out with my brother. We're going to watch Obsession since it seems like a fitting movie for the occasion! How about you?
